1. What is Peregrinos del Mar?
This is a culinary trail created by INTERFISH ESPAÑA along the Camino Francés, inspired by the Codex Calixtinus. Restaurants in eight towns offer special dishes prepared with Swordfish and Blue Shark, two fish species that also make their own way across the oceans.
2. How do I get the stamps?
Visit a participating restaurant, try their special dish for the campaign and ask for a stamp in your booklet. The stamp is a physical one and is applied by the restaurant itself. Each stamp counts equally, regardless of where you get it.
3. How many stamps do I need to win a prize?
Every stamp wins a prize. The card has 8 empty spaces; if you collect all 8 stamps, the final prize is a night’s stay in a hotel in Santiago de Compostela.
4. Where and how do I collect my prize?
Prizes can be collected from a stand set up in Santiago de Compostela, at the end of the Camino, by presenting your stamped card. You can fill in the form on this page with your details and a photo of your campaign credential so that we can have your prize ready for you. 5. What sort of fish will I be trying?
Swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and Blue Shark (Prionace glauca): two species of exceptional culinary quality, rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, coming from regulated fisheries that are scientifically monitored and use selective fishing methods.
6. Do I need to register or pay anything to take part?
You don’t need to register to complete the trail or to get your stamp: simply visit the restaurants and ask for it. Only at the end, if you’d like us to arrange your prize, can you fill in your details on the form. Tracking your progress on this website is optional and is only intended to help you keep track of your own progress.
7. When is the campaign running?
The campaign runs from 1 September to 30 October 2026.
